General Conference Secretary
The Connectional Council of the Global Methodist Church is currently accepting resumes from applicants who are interested in serving in the role of General Conference Secretary. The Council is mandated by the Book of Doctrines and Discipline to nominate an individual for this position according to ¶704.2 as outlined below:
Each General Conference shall elect a secretary upon nomination by the Connectional Council of the Global Methodist Church to serve until the adjournment of the next General Conference. The secretary shall oversee the publication and translation of proposals made to the General Conference and the actions taken by it, including publishing a transcript of the daily proceedings. The secretary shall be responsible for the corrected copy of the permanent record of the General Conference.
This is an hourly position with a workload that varies depending on the proximity to General Conference. Weekly hours may range from little to no activity during slower seasons to 30+ hours per week as General Conference approaches.
The individual selected for this role will serve as part of the Global Methodist Church global staff team and participate in twice-monthly staff meetings, along with two in-person staff gatherings each year.
