“The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24
"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
When I look back over my journey, one truth stands above everything else: God has been faithful. My story is not simply about where I have been or what I have accomplished. It is a story of calling, perseverance, gratitude, and learning to trust the God who continues to open doors I could never have opened for myself.
My ministry today gives me the privilege of serving two wonderful congregations: Riverview Bible Church in Central City, Iowa, and New Hope Church in Walker, Iowa. Serving these communities has allowed me to preach the Gospel, walk alongside people through the realities of life, and encourage individuals and families to grow spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. Ministry has taught me that people do not simply need sermons; they need presence, compassion, hope, and reminders that God is still working in their stories.
Another important part of my calling is ministry within the African and French-speaking community. As someone who understands the immigrant experience, I carry a special desire to encourage people who are building a new life while preserving their faith, identity, culture, and sense of purpose.
I am grateful to all the pastors and leaders of the Global Methodist Church. They have been a tremendous blessing in my journey. The GMC has provided me with opportunities to serve, grow, develop as a pastor, and faithfully pursue the calling God has placed upon my life. I am also grateful for the fellowship of other immigrant pastors. Walking alongside leaders who understand many of the cultural transitions, challenges, sacrifices, and opportunities connected with ministry in a new country has strengthened and encouraged me. I have been blessed with a wonderful family that prays and encourages me to trust God for my life.
Through difficult seasons, I have developed two convictions that continue to shape my life: Don’t Quit and Don’t Forget God, who brought me here.
“Don’t Quit” reminds me that challenges are not always signs that we should stop. Sometimes they are invitations to grow stronger, trust deeper, and keep moving forward.
“Don’t Forget God” reminds me that success can become as dangerous as difficulty if it causes us to forget the One who made everything possible.
That is why gratitude has become more than something I practice; it has become a way of life. Gratitude keeps my heart grounded. It reminds me that my abilities, opportunities, relationships, ministry, and future ultimately come from God. The more grateful I become, the less I depend solely upon myself and the more I learn to depend upon Him.
My journey is still being written. I do not know every chapter ahead, but I know the Author. And because the One who called me is faithful, I will continue serving, growing, giving thanks, trusting God—and refusing to quit.
